If you're curious, here's a little info about me.
Hi, there. I'm an indie author and lifelong Kentuckian. Writing is my passion. It’s not a hobby; it's my life's work. And it is damn hard work, too, but I love it. I wish I could write full-time. Alas, I have bills to pay. Someday, I’ll make that dream come true.
When I say, I’ve always been a writer, I mean it. I've been telling stories since I could talk. I was seven when I wrote my first story. It was about a wizard. I guess a lot of kids write stories. At least, I hope they do. But I’m pretty sure I’m the only kid who wrote her first collection of stories at age ten, titled “Satan’s Children and Other Stories.” Yep. Disturbing. I know. I’m also sure those stories were bad on many levels. But, hey, I was ten.
I earned a B.A. in Journalism a long, long time ago, did a little bit of reporting, and decided: nah, not gonna happen. I’m a creative cube monkey (AKA frustrated novelist) by day. By night, I write fiction and poetry. My favorite authors are Margaret Atwood, Joyce Carol Oates, Sylvia Plath, Anne Tyler, Ray Bradbury, Louise Erdrich, and Roald Dahl.
You might also want to know: I have an unhealthy obsession with true crime. I was all up in the O.J. Simpson trial back in the day. (Let’s not go there.) And more recently, I was all up in the Casey Anthony trial. (Let’s not go there either; I might burst a blood vessel.) I take crimes against children and animals personally. If given the chance, I will stick my foot up someone’s ass for hurting a child or an animal. Don’t test me; I have issues.
I am cynical and sarcastic, but I am also known for making people laugh. I have road rage on occasion, and some of the things I say to other drivers would make Howard Stern a tad bit uncomfortable. (Oaky, that’s an exaggeration, but I do say some really nasty things.) I am married to a hot dude; we have two lovely daughters, and two spoiled dogs.
That's probably more than you ever wanted to know. : - )
